The painter was in his 20's. It is an A-frame composition and uses many types of lines. It has a complimentary color scheme.  It is a sign of American democracy. The late-60s and early-70s works are good examples of the moody color that was at the heart of the art of the day. But they are never too good. In the early 70s, it is rare to see a color painting that isnt too beautiful. It is a characteristic of American culture. The color paintings are everywhere in the show. It is as if the art of the 80s had been forgotten, or worse, it had been turned into a kind of fashion magazine. These are beautiful pictures, but there is nothing remarkable about them. Like a lot of things in this show, they are generally good. The 90s, the decade of the Vietnam War, was the most interesting time of the 60s and early 70s. That is, it was the first time that American art was being made in new ways. The paintings were created in new ways, and that is why they are good. And, in a sense, they are good because the colors, patterns, and compositions have been radically transformed. The colors are brighter, bolder, more dynamic, and the patterns are more refined. In the late 60s, colors were so bright they were almost dazzling. Now they are so dull they are almost dull. The colors are grittier, deeper, richer, and the patterns more complex. The new work is full of heart. In a way, this new work is similar to the old work. The new paintings are more intellectual than the old ones. They are more sophisticated than the old ones. They are more subtle than the old ones. The new work is like a refined drawing. It has a graphic texture. The old work was rich, harsh, but beautiful. Now, it is dull and lifeless. The paintings have a kind of wiltedness. The colors have a faded look. The patterns are more complicated and more irregular. The patterns are more beautiful than ever.
