A couple of tiny paintings made of cotton-candy-colored gesso. An inflatable Barbie. And a small, painted-to-order, picture frame. Theres a lot of beauty in this show, and theres plenty of heart in it. I have no doubt that the show will go down in history as one of the great shows of the past decade. But its too soon to know. With each new exhibition, the viewer is forced to discover new ways to think about the past, to put his or her mind to the work of art in the present.
