... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...) (all works 1999) is a sort of self-portrait in a black and white photograph. A man stands before a camera, holding a camera to his mouth. A few seconds later, he turns to the right, where he sees himself standing. This self-portrait is accompanied by a series of black-and-white photographs showing a man who looks exactly the same as the one before him, but whose face has been blurred by the camera. The works title, which means Self-portrait in a Self-Portrait, is a reference to the famous self-portrait by René Magritte. In his Self-portrait in a Self-Portrait, Magritte, Magritte photographed himself and then himself in a mirror, as if to say, Look, I am the mirror. In this case, the self-portrait is a self-portrait in reverse: the self has been self-portrayed. But then again, maybe he is being self-portrayed. Or perhaps he is being self-portrayed, but he is already self-portrayed. And maybe the mirror is simply a mirror, a sort of double self-portrait, since it is the mirror that is being reflected. The mirror is also a mirror of the self, since it is a reflection of the self.In the end, this self-portrait is a self-portrait in reverse, but it is a reverse Self Portrait in reverse. It is a self-portrait in reverse because it is self-portraiture as self-portraiture. Self-portraiture as self-portraiture is a reflection of the self, a reflection of the self-portrait. It is a reflection of the self-portrait. The mirror is a reflection of the self, as well as the mirror of the self.

... ... ... ... ... ... and with the most beautiful thing, the whole thing is a picture of a room with a door. It looks like a room but isnt—it is a sort of room in a space. Its a kind of room in a space, and you can enter it, but only by entering a door. The doors are painted white and covered with a white cloth. It is impossible to see through the cloth. The doors are in a way a kind of door to the room, which is a kind of room in a space. The room is also a room in a space. The cloth is covered over and over and over again, and the cloth is a kind of cover over the cloth. It is as if the room were an enormous, huge, white-blanketed, black-paneled, white-covered room, and that white cloth is a kind of white cover over the room. But the cloth isnt white—it is a white cloth. The room is white. The cloth is white. The room is white. The cloth is white. The room is white. The cloth is white. The room is white.
