As a male student depicting a female doctor I show that male and female doctors are equal. Medical school was male dominated and male was the subject. These are paintings that show how much pain and suffering we all go through in life.The paintings are made from the same thing as medical school: the same materials: plaster, resin, and pigment. In these works, the plaster is used to make the models and the paint to give them color. The paint is applied with a palette knife and the plaster is painted in the same way. The colors are not simply applied but painted in with a palette knife, as if to emphasize their effect. In some of the paintings, the color is applied in a kind of hermetic, almost mystical way. The color is always black, white, or blue, and is applied with a brush. The colors have a strong sense of warmth, which the plaster does not have. The paint, on the other hand, is not hermetic but rather complex and richly layered. In some of the paintings, the paint is applied in a very abstract way, sometimes even with a transparent resin.
