The work was installed in a room that was not a museum but a storage space for old, worn-out, and sometimes dirty, but rarely used, automobiles. A decorative wall covered with red plastic sheeting decorated with a hand-painted diagram of the relationship of the different types of moving parts of an automobile to the same basic unit of the same type of car was laid out on the floor. These diagrams were based on the drawings of the artist and his friends. The diagrammatic drawings depicted the relationships between different kinds of gears and axles, among which the one based on the relationship between the gears of a Volkswagen Beetle and those of a Cadillac was the most typical.
