Describe "youth” by Ron Mueck, (2009).  The artist, who is twenty-five, has spent the past decade in the midst of the rise and fall of the American economy. As a result, he is an artist in exile, a kind of feral outsider. His recent show, which takes up the themes of the 1980s and 90s in a way that goes beyond the hard-core activism of the period, is a disquieting synthesis of the current political moment and the past.The show, which opens with a photograph of a young man sitting on the stoop in front of a dilapidated, dilapidated-looking building, then moves on to a group of photographs documenting the artists interaction with the city of Chicago. The photographs, which are printed on glass, include photographs of the artists body, which appears in the background of the photographs as a luminous white mass; a photograph of a woman standing in front of a dilapidated building; and a photograph of a building with the word youth written across it. The images are taken from public sources, including the Chicago Public Library, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Chicago Art Institute. The photographs also include, among other things, a photograph of a group of children running along the Chicago River.The photographs of the Chicago skyline, which are similar to those of the Chicago Public Library photographs, are reminiscent of the works of the 1960s and 70s. The sky is a blank slate, and the buildings skyline, a sort of ghostly ghost, is a vaguely ominous, almost menacing place. In one of the photographs, a building with the word youth written on its facade appears, while in another, a building with the word youth written on its facade appears. These are the buildings of the city, and the buildings of the city are the buildings of the city. The buildings of the city are also the buildings of the city.

Muecks series of images is based on a collection of newspaper clippings and is titled after a famous photograph by Alfred Stieglitz, showing a group of young men who were waiting to go out and have lunch at the cafeteria of a local high school. The school is located in the suburbs of Los Angeles, where Muecks friends and family live. Muecks use of the photograph is to illustrate a series of drawings, each of which takes the form of a photograph. The works are arranged chronologically, in sequence, and are titled after the names of the students who appear in the photographs. Muecks series is based on a series of photographs of young men in their twenties, all of whom were photographed for the magazine Fast Times at the beginning of the decade. The magazine is a kind of popular youth magazine, designed for young men, who are constantly asked to become part of its audience. At the end of the video, Mueck, in a reflective but otherwise uncharacteristic stance, examines the video camera as it moves over his head and shoulders, and then turns it over to his face, in a sort of cross-reference to the camera as a metaphor for the subjectivity of the artist. The viewer, of course, is not the subject of this exercise, but is instead the subject of the artist. Muecks video, which is based on an installation by the artists friend and former student, the sculptor and photographer Thomas Mann, has been shown in two successive versions. The first, made in 2009, was shown at the Munichs Kunstverein in 2009, and then at the Kunsthalle in Basel in 2010. The second, shown at the Kunsthalle in Basel in 2010, was shown at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in 2011. The video has been viewed in a wide range of ways, and in the end the viewer was left with a great many questions.What is the meaning of youth? What is the relation between artist and subject? What is the relationship between subject and artist? What is the relation between subject and object? What is the relation between subject and object? The answer, according to Mueck, is that the subject is always young, but also that the artist is always young, but also that the artist is always young, but also that the subject is always young. The subject, then, is not only the subject of the artist, but also the subject of the artist, and Muecks works always suggest that the subject is always young, but also that the artist is always young.

 The artist, a father of seven, works with a kit for his son, which includes a new guitar, a set of drumsticks, and a drum set. Muecks work is defined by an intense and personal synthesis of both technology and tradition. He uses the latest technology to address the most fundamental questions of modern art, like how to make a painting. He puts it to good use, while at the same time he remains faithful to the past. He is a symbol of the success of art, but also of the difficulties of life. A painting in the style of Mueck is not a painting that is merely another form of decoration; it is a painting that is an art of life. When Mueck makes a painting, he makes it for him, and for the rest of us. What he has done is show us what it means to be alive. He has shown us how to live.
