since I wanted to communicate with intense emotions. I chose to work with the intense facial expressions of sadness and fear, I was inspired by the departure of my sisters and the ardent desire/longing that i had to cross during the process of overcoming the grief in my general surroundings of my day-to-day life. Therefore, I chose to express myself and exaggerate this theme through my final piece by using vibrant colour schemes and experimenting with oil paints to reflect all my work that I've created so far into one
layer and paint a region of the canvas. The final piece in the show, the entrance hall and the street, consists of the four colors of the World-Bahnkermer, the colors for the cross in the symbolic city of Munich, which symbolizes transience and the path toward death. This was a bold and cheerful idea; it seems to have elicited a great number of impressions in the distance between the walls of the entrance hall and the grand plaza. It couldnt have been easy to work with that color, to make the colors reflective and reflecting, but with perseverance, a strategy that produced a perfect convergence between the artistic expression and the living experience.
continuous sheet of paper. Also, as the title suggests, I wanted to move away from the technology-infatuated art of the 60s that i have witnessed in my own country, to move toward an increasingly personal, more emotional, and therefore more profound artistic sensibility. These reasons are the basis for my approach to my work, which is guided by a willingness to be taken seriously and to allow for the possibility of unintentional signification. This exhibition was based on the artists work that was taken as existing only in the imagination, that was manipulated and transformed into the work of art. The work is, for me, not art, nor is it intended to be art; its conception is that it exists as a material, nonart object, where only the artist can alter and manipulate it. Accordingly, I have made every effort to achieve the most appropriate relationship between the work and its surroundings, that is, between the work and the space it occupies. In the process of this process, the development of an imaginative persona, which i regard as integral to all artistic participation, is also of importance. This is the most important aspect of my work, because it enables me to communicate with a wide range of emotions, and thereby allows me to express my deepest feelings to a wider audience. I invite all viewers, who are in a position to identify themselves with this position, to express their feelings through my work.It is an exciting experience for me to work with works that express the depth of their potential, where they become feelings in themselves. It is also a painful experience, because a certain distance exists between the artist and his or her audience, a distance that is sometimes as great as the distance between art and people.
painting, and then adding the brandy, whiskey, lemon juice, and a little bit of tobacco to give it a bit of strength as well. But I cant stop there. I have a number of ideas for further works that i may yet come up with and implement. All the works in this exhibition have been sold individually. A selection of these can be seen in the gallery. They include a group of 40 small etchings, a twenty-seven-page book of drawings, a diaristic story of the death of a close friend, and photographs of Chris Burden at a press conference about his show of new films. Some of the images are particularly touching, and one hopes they will be shown at other exhibitions, or may be displayed as wall decorations on the side of a restaurant or in a bar. In addition, several of these images have been purchased, like the books, by other artists, and are being shown in the same gallery. They include a photograph by Bill Viola and a photograph by Kevin McCall. Violas commercial images have appeared in an exhibition on the Venice Biennale, and they also appear in some of the exhibitions of a group called Common Ground in Los Angeles.
. Ive never had much luck in finding the right clientele for my work, but Im grateful for the opportunity and will continue to try.
