FAR model revisited: quality assessment of Malay dramas English subtites and the viewers perception of the global context. The first was a series of black-and-white portraits of local residents of Malaysias Asian and African communities, grouped into a series of human relations, from the social interactions of family members to those of the global elite. These portraits were based on a photograph from the mid-1980s by the writer and director Aziz Seen. The image, taken in a hotel room, shows a group of people sitting on a bed, a table, or a bedside table. As in the portraits of a friend, the images subject is often a single, identifiable person. These portraits are made with a felt-tip pen, which Seen uses to trace the contours of the surface. The idea behind the series was that the paper would serve as a substitute for the human figure. In the past, Seen has shown his works in several forms, including prints and drawings. The new works were exhibited in a display case at the gallery. The most striking of the works in the show was a series of black-and-white photographs of the gallerys parking lot and offices, depicting the exacting quality of the quality control used in the production of the photographs. Seen has also created a series of portraits of the designers of Malaysia Airlines, the countrys most famous airline, whose offices were the first to open their doors to the public. The photos were inspired by the way the designers of the airline were treated by their employers: in the 1990s, the design department of the Malaysian Airlines Corporation was closed down, and Seens photographs of the office of the designers were the first to be published in print. The photographs in the show are of a high-end grade: the artists used his own hand to trace the contours of the paper. But the quality is not high, only mediocre, and in some cases, it is impossible to distinguish the contours of a human from a piece of felt.
